Why did you choose to go to Porto, Portugal?

I wanted to experience a southern European country with a university suiting to my program in Sweden.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I get 1000 euros extra for 5 months of study abroad, but I also have a loan and a scholarship of 990 euros a month from my country.

What is the student lifestyle like in Porto?

A lot of activities like parties, trips around Portugal, social coffee breaks. The nightlife is active almost everyday of the week.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Porto to other students?

I would recommend it a 100%.

What is the food like?

There is quite an unhealthy fatty food culture. But if you know where to go, there is a lot of good food of varied low prices.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Porto?

It was quite problematic to find accommodation. . So my advise is to try to book something in pre-advance.

How much does it cost to live in Porto?

With accommodation, parties, trips, food and all you need/want, I would estimate 600-1000 euros a month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I manage perfectly with English but a lot of friends took courses provided by the university.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Porto from your city?

Metro and bus are very convenient. Ubers are also cheap.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Porto?

Ribeira, Adega, 77, Hard club.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Porto?

Brasão Cervejaria has the best Portuguese food in town.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

My favorites are Ribeira and Palacio Cristal park.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Porto in the future?

Try Surfing! I surfed a lot in Porto and also did some trips to other places in Portugal. Amazing!
