Why did you choose to go to Porto, Portugal?

I came to Porto for a short vacations some months before my Erasmus semester and I fell in love with the city ! Its culture, its citizens.

What is the student lifestyle like in Porto?

Attending good quality courses, making new friends from all over the world, doing cosy dinner or big parties, enjoying the culture and always discovering new charming places in Porto.
Porto is a great student city with many differents poles of its university, there is always something entertaining to do and at an affordable price !

Would you recommend the city and the University of Porto to other students?

Definitely, come to Porto !

What is the food like?

The food is delicious and generous : it is usually huge plates.
Going from traditionnal meals, tapas, to sea food specialties.

You must try a Francesinha which is local from Porto.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Porto?

Porto is a city in expansion with mostly affordable prices, except for accommodation.
An accomodation in the center of Porto is more expensive than you could expect from its general cost of life, and mostly : it is hard to find !

The accomodation are taken really fast, it is for the best to plan it months before your arrival.

However, students rooms are cheaper, offer a warm environnement and assure you great meatings ! Students rooms are also taken really fast.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There is language course available at the Porto University of Letter for foreign student at a reduced price.

Getting the language easily will depend on what is your native language and on your effort to speak the language.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Porto from your city?

Plane

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Porto?

Adega sports bar !

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Porto?

Casa Guedes !

Explore the old town and the surrounding where you are staying, there is always a good restaurant close to you in Porto.

Favorise the little independant restaurant which are locals, over than the places which looks a bit much touristical and overprices.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

All the old town and the river side.
