Experience in Porto Alegre, Brazil by Daniela
What is it like to live in Porto Alegre? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
The city is nice but... Walking during the night in most parts of the city is outright dangerous. During the day, it is recommended to pay attention to your belongings at all times, due to the activity of pickpockets and other thieves. Avoid parks at night.
The vast majority of the population is of European descent. The gaúchos are very proud of their land and culture. Only 5 Museums in the city.
In general, people dont understand English language, they speak only portuguese.
