Which is the best card to use in Poland?

Source

Like I was saying in my previous post, I explained why we should not take out money using cards from your usual banks (I speak of those more legendary ones such as Santander, BBVA, Caixa or Popular); we should not create a Polish bank account either.

Moreover, some of the more confusing things about creating a Polish account are that you should 'pay it off' once you are leaving there, you pay the following commission as well (I think I remember that they charged me more than 5 euros for two months) and you have to sign some forms in Polish and to know how to do so.

But that's it because here comes the best solution from my experience.

What is the best solution?

Without a doubt, Evo Banco. Not only because you can take out money in all corners of the world without any commission, in any bank in any country and of course in any bank in Spain as well but also, it chargers neither commission nor any cost if you take it out of a young person account (less than 30 years).

It goes without saying that every year Evo Banco gains more and more clients thanks to its great service, which includes that its offices are open until 20:30 and also thanks to everything they offer. You have the possibility of taking out a credit card completely free and you can make monthly transactions of 300 euros, which will not be a problem if you are Erasmus (although with the debit card, leftovers).

Of course, electronic banking is available and you can see all of your transactions and money you have available online or on your mobile. There are easy tools available to use and they ensure that using the page is always a comfort and not a difficulty; it uses basic colours such as white and black so your eyes will not be charged and everything is simpler.

On the other hand, you have the option of buying a virtual card like the 'Paysafecard' with which you can shop online without having to put any actual data or details of your card.

In terms of security, every time you go to make a transaction with Evo Banco it will ask you for a code that they send to your mobile and it asks you to key in a code of your coordinating card, so impersonating your identity is not possible with only the stolen credit card. Everything costs very little and this is their slogan; give the client more for less.

Also, ordering the card only takes two minutes and it will arrive at your house so don't be one of those people who wait until the last day and get one out now (I don't get commission for this).

But Antonio, everything is good?

Of course, not everything can be perfect and a bank will not give you all of the above for absolutely nothing. And the thing is that they do not ask for much because they leave you with up to four withdrawals a month without charging you anything and then you will be charged with the fifth, one euro each time you withdraw. Never more and never less, so you have that certainty of what you are going to be charged and on the other hand, the key is that whenever you withdraw money four times or less, they will not charge you.

Conclusion?

As you can understand, it is not bad considering all the services and I would definitely stay with Evo Banco. For other options on accounts and others including those that offer investment; make sure that everything is on their website is very clear and with a fairly complete FAQ.

We already know what tool to use when we travel or for Erasmus but now we have to answer another key question:

Does it give exactly the same in some banks as in others in Poland?

I will speak about this in the following article and it is as it can be suspected, not because I would not speak about it. The key is that although Evo Banco does not charge you to change the currency and for taking money out, but every Polish bank will charge you more or less a broad commission for the transaction, depending on the exchange rate they offer... which we will see below in the next entry.

Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come one, people keep learning, we keep getting better.
