How is the city? Would you recommend it? Did you like live there?

Poitiers is a city that lives thanks to students. It's not a really big city, but enough to please. I spent an awesome year in Poitiers and met a lot of ERASMUS students (English, Spanish, etc. ). Not a single one told me that he/she don't like Poitiers!

How was the student atmosphere in Poitiers?

The atmosphere is very welded. It's a small city. Everyone knows each other (almost everyone). It's easy to make friends, you often see the same people... That's fine for me!

What's the cost of living in Poitiers?

Life in Poitiers is really good, compared to the others student cities.

It's cheaper than the other cities in general.

Is it hard to find an accommodation at Poitiers? Do you have any piece of advice?

It's not hard to find an accommodation, either by the CROUS or advertisement.

How is the food in the city? What are your favourite dishes?

Poitiers doesn't have a really strong "culinary identity". I am not aware of typical dishes from the city...

Which places would you recommend to visit in Poitiers?

There are the Blossac Park, which is really nice when it's sunny outside, and the city centre is also really pleasant.

And to eat in Poitiers? Could you tell us your best spots

Personally, I love the Japanese restaurant. The Canadian bar/restaurant "Le Caribou" is also very nice (with specialities using maple syrup). The little restaurants near to the City Hall are also very good.

Which places would you recommend to go out at night in Poitiers?

There are some nice bars in the city centre like the "Connemara" (Pub atmosphere), "L'Est-Ouest" or the "Havanita". There are nightclub in the city. It's up to you!

What advice would you give to future ERASMUS students in Poitiers?

Do not hesitate a second to go to Poitiers! The ERASMUS network is very welded, from what I saw! But try to speak a little in French. You often are hard to approach! :)
