Why did you choose to go to Perugia, Italy?

I always wanted to go on Erasmus in Italy. I have chosen Perugia because I heard that that Perugia has the best University for studing italian language and one of my goal for studing in Italy was and still is because I am still there, improvment of my italian language.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I have scholarship for 5 months and I can say that is enough for all my living costs. I received 450 euro per month, so 2250 euro altogether.

What is the student lifestyle like in Perugia?

ESN Perugia organize different acitivities, for example on Mondays are caraoke, Tuesday tandem night etc. Also they organize different trips. Near University are good bars for hang out and what is more there are good parks to hang out and chill on the sun. Btw ofcourse we need to study :D

Would you recommend the city and the University of Perugia to other students?

Absolutely. City is not to big and not too crowded but it has everything what students city need to have. I am attending University for Foreigners, professors are nice and helpful so if you want to improve italian language that is the best place to do it.

What is the food like?

Delicious!! You have various types of food, sweet and salt versions. You will find pasticceria in every corner of the city and places with the good pizza.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Perugia?

At the beginning was hard to find but on the ESN website I found good agency which can help you to find accommodation.

How much does it cost to live in Perugia?

I am living in the private dormitory, so for single room with private bathroom I am paying 380 euro per month. I usually eat in mensa where the complete menu costs 4,50 euro. For full basket of groceries you will pay between 30 and 50 euro.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Italian language is not to easy and not to hard. It is similar to spanish and france. On for University for Foreigners you can attend 1 month or 3 month course, you have lessons every day. On University of Perugia my friends have courses twice a week

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Perugia from your city?

Depends where are you living. I am from Croatia and I arrived by bus, Flixbus, I had 1 stop in Bologna. If you travel by train it is possible that you will have 2 or more stops. From some places you have direct flights to Peruga but then you will need to take bus from the aeroport. If not you can take flight to Roma and from Roma aeport is the direct bus that takes you to the city

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Perugia?

Pinturicchio, Cantiere, Shamrock and Dempsey

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Perugia?

Umbro, Loft, Reginella, Dinastia

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Arco Etrusco, Duomo, Fontana Maggiore, Oratorio di san Bernardino, Archaeological museum Perugia, National Gallery of Umbria and all churches

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Perugia in the future?

You wouldn't regret if you will choose Perugia for your Erasmus :)
