What is it like to live in Patras? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Patras is a nice quiet town. It is the 3rd bigest city in Greece Not very big and not very small. The life there is very nice , because it's a town full of university students from many places.
I recommend it, because it has everything you need and it is a safe town with a lot of people willing to help you. Oh, and has the best carnaval in Greece!!!

How much does it cost to live in Patras?

The cost to live in Patras is very low! Due to the fact that it has a lot of university students you can found a lot of offers there. You can rent a very nice house in the city center from 250 euros (at about 60 m2) and food and drink is very cheap. (food from 2 euros and drink from 3-4 euros).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Patras? Is there any advice you can give?

I think it's very easy to find accommodation! Especially in September where most of the students have left and a lot of new are expected. The best place to live is near the city center, because you will have everything you need and you don't have to take transportation.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is the best!! The dishes are big and the prices low! You can eat greek food, italian, mexican and chinese. My favourite food is "pita", it's greek fast food and cost lower than 2 euros and is very hearty.

What places would you recommend visiting in Patras?

I reccommend to visit the castle of Patras, the ancient theater(you can see a ancient show in summer), the port, the beach nearby and the lighthouse. You should also visit the central square and walk in the sidewalks in downtown, where you can find a lot of shops, places for food and drink and a lot of neoclassical buildings to stare.
