Why did you choose to go to Palma de Mallorca, Spain?

Because I wanted to be somewhere with the ocean nearby and where it is easy to take part in adventures regularly

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship is for 8 months and I receive 700 euro a month

What is the student lifestyle like in Palma de Mallorca?

It is pretty sweet I am not much of a party person but in terms of meetups and getting involved in activities I have found it incredibly easy.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Palma de Mallorca to other students?

Yeah for sure, I think that it is a great place to hang out with a chilled out vibe and there is a lot of opportunities to participate in a lot of different things.

What is the food like?

The food is pretty good from what I have sampled. I try to cook at home as often as possible so can't say much but there are super cheap ice creams available and sobrasada is something sent from some sort of super knowledge base.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Palma de Mallorca?

No I was really fortunate in finding my place and I think I got really lucky but I have heard from others that it is difficult so I recommend getting in early.

How much does it cost to live in Palma de Mallorca?

It costs me about 500 euro a month to live here without too many issues.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I came with a strong Spanish base so have had no difficulties with the language except for in some communities where they speak Catalan. But they will happily change to Spanish when they realise I don't speak Catalan.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Palma de Mallorca from your city?

I am from New Zealand so getting here I came through different cities but coming and going Ryanair has some really good deals.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Palma de Mallorca?

So-Ho bar it is a retro bar with old video games you can play and board games you can enjoy with friends

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Palma de Mallorca?

I don't go out to eat and when I do it is with a group who sort of just take me along so can't comment on this one

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Castle is definitely worth a visit and further afield on Mallorca LLuc or out in the Serra de Tramuntana there are many cool old huts and historical sites

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Palma de Mallorca in the future?

Don't worry if at first you feel a bit overwhelmed for me it was a lot bigger than I thought it would be but after a while it slowly becomes very familiar and now I feel like I almost know the whole of Mallorca after 3 months here just gradually branching out and exploring
