Palermo Monuments

Walking through Palermo to the beach, we saw this small medieval gate; near it, the remains of a mosque and a cemetery were in the soil.

A small place with these trees made us relax for a bit, and the light shining through the branches was beautiful!

The city park had a small sundial in its centre, and the sunlight that day was just beautiful!

Here you can see the sundial (a dodecaedric form) on a statue ... do you know how it works? The shadow of the triangle falling on the lines indicates the daytime.

This honorary statue for a local hero (a cardinal, it seems) displays baroque forms; yet, it is not free from modern political slogans.

This majestic baroque building with a fountain before it represents the power of the capital city of the island ...
