Oslo: A Perfect Weekend Escape.

Hello!

Welcome once more to this blog Today I'm going to tell you how I spent a spectacular weekend in Norway, specifically in Oslo. Impressive!

Ignore the comments about how boring Norway is, because I was impressed. In fact, I loved it.

It is clear that it is always necessary to dedicate a lot of time to visit, to get to know and enjoy any country, in Europe or abroad. But, due to my job, I only had a weekend. So, I focused my visit on the most important things in Oslo, and I enjoyed a lot of things.

1- The Opera.

I can't say much, just visit it! Discover for yourself how spectacular this building is, both inside and out.

Also, do as I did, go inside and enjoy the terrace with a cold drink while watching the sea views. However, it is only open in summer.

In addition to this, contemplate your reflection in the water, both during the day and at night. And, do not hesitate to walk on the roof, I even recommend that you sit there and enjoy the sun and the breeze of the fjord.

Spectacular!

2- Vigeland Park, or Vigelandspark.

It's a Sculpture Park, a must-see!

What impressed me the most and what I liked was the Monolite, a very high column formed by human sculptures.

Furthermore, I enjoyed the Museum of the Artist.

The atmosphere in the park is pleasant; you can have a picnic, go for a walk, take a bike ride and many other things.

Visit it, definitely!

3- Take a walk through Karl Johans Gate.

The main street of Oslo where you can enjoy the best atmosphere, many shops, bars, restaurants...

Also, when walking along this street you can enjoy the Parliament, the National Theater, Oslo Cathedral...

I recommend it, it's a must if you're going to Oslo.

4- Visit Oslo Cathedral.

5- Explore the Norwegian Parliament.

6- Be impressed by the curious City Hall of Oslo.

I entered and was impressed with the decoration of its interior; it is full of history and culture and it gave me the feeling of a true masterpiece that makes a visit to this place essential.

Do it, get to know the Oslo City Hall!

7- Investigate the interior of the Royal Palace

I was lucky enough to be able to enjoy the interior of the Royal Palace , as I travelled there in summer and it's only open for summer tours. It is unique, impressive and surprising.

If your trip is in summer, book it and enjoy.

The park that surrounds the Palace is also spectacular and worth visiting - you can do this throughout the year.

Write it down, and get to know the Royal Palace.

8- See Munch's Scream at the National Gallery

9- Don't leave Oslo without seeing the Akershus Fortress

It's iconic of Oslo, and even Norway. They recommended this visit, and so I did it. If I ever went back to Oslo, I would do it again.

I liked it so much.

Also, I enjoyed the National Museum where the victims of World War II are commemorated.

We highly recommend you to visit during dusk.

10- Don't forget to take a boat trip through the Norwegian Fjord.

11- Visit the Museum of Viking Ships.

12- Get to know the FRAM Museum.

13- Holmenkollen and its ski museum.

Even if you are not a ski lover, you will enjoy it as if you were. Visit it, especially if you are travelling in winter. Enjoy the ski museum - even climb to the top and enjoy a complete view of the city, enjoying the snowy views.

And if you do it in summer... you'll see everything green.

How beautiful!

Oslo hides much more than I have said. Things that I did not have time to explore, but I know from experiences of colleagues and friends that every step in Oslo, every corner visited... is impressive.

Oslo is.... What the world isn't. Marvels.
