Now, something general about Osijek... Osijek is the fourth largest city in Croatia with a population of 108,048 in 2011. It is the largest city and the economic and cultural centre of the eastern Croatian region of Slavonia, as well as the administrative centre of Osijek-Baranja County. Osijek is located on the right bank of the river Drava, 25 kilometres (16 mi) upstream of its confluence with the Danube, at an elevation of 94 metres (308 ft). In Osijek you can go by bus or a tram, and here is the official page of city ride (Osijek doo city passenger transport) where you can find information about bus and tram stations, prices and time departure.

There is a lot of places that are worth to see: galeries, city theatre, shopping centres, history parts of Osijek, etc. You can also visit near by places like Đakovo, Vukovar and Baranja and all that places are connected with bus. You have cca 30 minutes of ride and the bus ticket are 5 euro. More about places that you can visit are going to be described below.

What is the student lifestyle like in Osijek?

I am a student in Faculty of Agriculture (University of J. J. Strossmayer), and I'm satisfied with all that Osijek and my university are gave me. Education is quality and students have privileges prices to food, books, cinemas, haircuts, spots facilities... Most of students have student jobs. They are working in call centers, fast food restaurants, stores, faculty researches etc, for 2-3 euros per hour.
