How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship is for 9 weeks and I received about 1100 € for the period of my stay.

What is the student lifestyle like in Osijek?

I don't go out much, but the few times I did, it was interesting and fun. Everyone was interested in each other's experiences and culture.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Osijek to other students?

Yes I do recommend. It is a nice place to be.

What is the food like?

Their pizza was nice, and the cake, especially the one from Peter Pan was very nice. I haven't eaten their local delicacies though, so I don't know about that.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Osijek?

No it didn't, with the help of the Erasmus office, I was able to find a place easily.

How much does it cost to live in Osijek?

If one isn't really the outgoing type, I will say to budget around 350-400 €. But if you like to go out and have fun, then budget about 500 €.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language was a bit hard for me. But there is a language class which is available at the university, which they will inform you about with details.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Osijek from your city?

There isn't an easy mode of transport, so I have to look for a private driver to take me to and from my city to Osijek.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Osijek?

There are lots of pubs and cafes in Osijek which one can go to. There is also the cinema which is cheap for students. As for clubs, I have no idea.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Osijek?

I only went to one which is the American dollar bar and it was really nice. Highly recommended.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

A tour of the old city is for sure, especially coming in from the direction of the Drava river.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Osijek in the future?

For the future students, the city and it's people are very nice. So, be calm and have fun, but not too much fun because you also have to study.
