What is it like to live in Osijek? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The city is okay place to be on an Erasmus for couple of months, but not good place to live for a long time period. There is not much opportunity to find a good job there, etc.

What is the student lifestyle like in Osijek?

Student lifestyle is also okay, student night is on Thursdays. Students go out mostly on an old part of the town called Tvrdja or somewhere around the center of the city.

Food and drinks for students, with a student card called X-ica, are cheap and not so bad.

How much does it cost to live in Osijek?

In Osijek, student apartment or room for one person is around 100 euros plus around 30 euros expenses, it depends. And for food, u need only 100 euros but of course you can spend more if u r gonna cook, order food, etc.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Osijek? Is there any advice you can give?

It is not difficult. On student groups on Facebook and on adds u can easily find a place for a small price.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is heavy, with a lot of pasta, bakeries, etc. But u can always find healthier meals, of course. People there love to eat meat, burek from the bakery...

But one of my favourite dish is actually a catfish perkelt. That is also a heavy meal, even tho that is a fish, but with pieces of bacon, fresh cheese and pasta, with strong red sauce.
