What is it like to live in Opole? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The city itself is medium-sized, very comfortable to live in - most places are close to each other, however you don't have an impression to live in a small space.

What is the student lifestyle like in Opole?

Opole is a student city, most of activities (such as parties) are connected to student's live directly, as well as prices in my opinion.

How much does it cost to live in Opole?

Not as much as in bigger cities in Poland, I'd say relatively cheap as a matter of fact, but it's hard to calculate in a different currency and personal style of life.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Opole? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not very difficult, however for an international student I'd recommend one of the university's dorm, e. g. SOKRATES.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You can find all kinds of different restaurants and fast food restaurants in the city. The most popular are places with Turkish kebab and traditional Polish meals, like my favs - pierogi.

Is it good to eat out in Opole? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It's great to eat out in Opole if you know where to look for. It all depends on prices: cheap - ZORBA, medium - DWOREK, expensive - STARKA or KAMIENICA. I'm not saying these are my personal favourites, but they can definitely be recommended.

Is the nightlife good in Opole? Where is good to go?

The nightlife in Opole is fine, but it's not as good as in bigger, more crowded cities in Poland. However, with a good crew you can have a great time in spots in Opole!

What advice would you give future students heading to Opole?

Although young people in Opole can speak English in a huge majority, try to be open for Polish language and culture - we respect that attitude and we're thankful for appreciation to polish traditions, that we are proud of.
