Experience in Opole, Poland by Katarzyna
What is it like to live in Opole? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Opole is a typical student city and if you live in the dormitory you will never get bored. For me, the city is nice and you will find there a lot of clubs, coffee shops and restaurants. Opole is not very big, so you can go everywhere on foot unless the weather is bad but then you can easily take a bus.
What is the student lifestyle like in Opole?
Student life in Opole is great. The truth is that we have to go to classes and pass exams, but we can always find time to party. In music clubs there are always a lot of students from Monday till Saturday.
How much does it cost to live in Opole?
It´s not so expensive, but it depends on shops you choose, of course. I recommend Biedronka, Lidl and Tesco.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Opole? Is there any advice you can give?
As an Erasmus student you can live in dormitory. It´s much cheaper than living in a flat, and you can meet a lot of students from Poland and other countries.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Polish food is delicious, but typical dishes have too much fat. My favourite dish is dumplings with potatoes and white cheese we call pierogi ruskie.
