Lofoten Islands (VII)
Hi hi, today I am going to start telling you our wonderful trip to Lofoten Islands.
Our trip started the 28th of April, on Sunday, in the Oslo's train station, where we took the suttle train to the airport of Gardermoen. The train took around twenty minutes.
The plane departure quite soon, I think I remember we left Oslo at seven in the morning. The trip took one hour, so it was comfortable (better one hour than the almost four hours to fly to Valencia... ). We arrived to the Narvik airport around 10 on the morning and we could feel the difference of temperature when we just left the plane. Despite the good temperatures there are in Lofoten, it was colder than Oslo. Pretty much...
In general, we were not expecting that much. Although you see I am dressing a jumper on the pictures and the sunny day and clear sky… The wind could cut your skin because it was cold. I was really intelligent because I left the most of my warm clothes in Valencia ten days ago, so the clothes I had they were all I could choose.
We looked for the van we had rented online. We went to the stand of Hertzto pick up the keys. The guy explained to us that the van we had rented was not available (it was a van for seven people) so the company gave to us one for nine people instead. So that was perfect, because the price was the same but that meant more comfort.
It was a very good thing the fact we have a bigger transport than we expected because loads of hours were waiting for us inside the van touring the islands.
We loaded up the luggage in the van and they turned to drive. The first one was Baptiste. The impression and the image we received when we just left the airport was amazing. I think it is really hard to describe what we felt going ahead the road. That landscape opened and hugged us, it invited us to follow the road (with really bad quality, because the weather in Norway makes the roads have a bad quality) and to go inside their mountains, to cross the innumerable bridges and to go inside their tunnels that gave the impression of never finished.
The first stop me did it was in a kind of mini beach we found next to the road that made us to open our mouths: light sand and blue and crystal water. The emotion did not let us to think that many other places were waiting for us in the south of the islands, but that image of snowy mountains and paradisical beaches inside the Polar Circle was overwhelming and incredible at the same time.
And that was how we started our little adventure in Lofoten Islands…
Enjoy the pictures, dear readers.
