It's a very cosy and warm city as we call it in Dutch it's 'gezellig'. It has a historic city centre with many nice buildings, shops and bars. It's the oldest city of the country.

SSH& is an organisation that provides student housing in Nijmegen and Arnhem. There are also many Facebook pages like 'Kamer te huur in Nijmegen'.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are many nice, cheap restaurants. And I'm a real sucker for Dutch food like stamppot (mashed potatoes with vegetables) and pancakes. Also the Dutch are famous for their snackbars where you can eat snacks that you can eat with fries. You should really taste a 'frikandel' (sausage) or 'kroket' (croquette) when you're in Nijmegen.

What places would you recommend visiting in Nijmegen?

The muZIEum is a museum where you can experience how it's like to be blind or partially sighted. It is a really nice experience and they also offer English and German tours.

The nightlife in Nijmegen is really great. There are many nice clubs and bars down the 'Molenstraat' and on the market, 'Grote markt' there are many pubs where you can sit and enjoy a nice beer. You should visit Beer and Bites where you can taste many special beers.
