Why did you choose to go to Nijmegen, Netherlands?

I wanted to visit the Netherlands, discover a new culture and share an Erasmsu Experience.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

It was 6 months long, it depends on the country, but I got 1500 euros from Erasmus scholarships.

What is the student lifestyle like in Nijmegen?

Social, kind, cosy, punctual, bike addict and party as well for Erasmsus students.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Nijmegen to other students?

Of course, it was one of the best experiences in my Life.

What is the food like?

It depends on what you like, you can find all kinds of food, I didn't like that much the typical Dutch food, so I ate like a typical European.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Nijmegen?

No, you can choose many students houses from the University. It's a bit expensive but the experience is so good.

I was sharing a fat with 3 Erasmus and there were other buildings with only Erasmus people; that was very interesting (parties, sharing meals, really amazing ambience).

How much does it cost to live in Nijmegen?

500 / 600 € per month, it depends on what you want to do.

Housing and transport are expensive.

Get a bike as all people and it will be ok, and its very nice to bike in the city, it's beautiful.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, all Dutch speak very good English, and with Erasmus people everybody speaks English or Spanish.

Yes, my courses were in English and some in Spanish as I learnt Spanish too.

I'm French, so you can find French as well and other languages.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Nijmegen from your city?

By train, plane or even by bike if you are very very motivated.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Nijmegen?

It depends on what yo want to do. Usually we did big parties with all students in our "little town".

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Nijmegen?

Some coffeshops as Kronkel, Bed and Breakfeast.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Nijmegen in the future?

Buy a bike directly, and get an accommodation in the Lent site, search with the Radboud university as well.
