What is the student lifestyle like in Nijmegen?

Students go out a lot, there are parties of different student organisations through out the whole week. The locations are more like pubs than clubs.

How much does it cost to live in Nijmegen?

The rents for rooms can be quite high but it's still possible to find a room for about 300 euros/month or less. The price for food is relatively low (in comparison to other countries in Europe), going by train or bus is expensive.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Nijmegen? Is there any advice you can give?

Like in many other student cities, it's difficult to find accommodation, the easiest way is to get a room via friends. In general, rooms that are offered to students are low in quality. A good advice is to look for groups on Facebook where rooms are offered (like easyroomsnijmegen).

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are many restaurants where you can find any kind of food (Italian, Spanish, Chinese,... ). To me, the Dutch food is not very special, the most dishes contain fried food. But as said, you can find everything.

Is it good to eat out in Nijmegen? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Eating out in Nijmegen is quite expensive so I haven´t tried a lot of restaurants yet but sushi at "SUMO" at Molenstraat in the center of Nijmegen is always a good choice. "WOK and GO" (also in the City center) or different restaurants at the Waalkade are worth to try, too.
