What is it like to live in New Delhi? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

New Delhi apart from being the capital city, has many perks. I was born in New Delhi, however lived there only for a matter of 8 years. Not aware of party life that much but i have heard it is pretty good, and the timings better than the timings in my current city.

The food in New Delhi, is something to drool over. They have got the best street food ever! The only good street food experience is in New Delhi! From chole bhature to rajma chawal to tandoori momos, you get everything there. I mean who would have even have heard of something like tandoori momos?! But you get it here in the most famous south extension!

Though i haven't stayed there enough to talk about each and every place, i have been to a few, and facebook and friends have promised to take me to each and every place to relish these beauties! The best part about it is, its kept very neat and clean, the main city especially, and though it seems to be like a concrete jungle, there seems to be enough greenery around too. However, the pollution in New Delhi, even after the metro rail services have begun, hasnt reduced to that extent. When i visited delhi in 2009, the pollution levels were so high, i could barely see any stars in the sky! But i still love going to Delhi, as i get to have my most favourite aloo parathas made by my ever so enthu granny!

What is the student lifestyle like in New Delhi?

The maximum student life that i have experienced in New Delhi, was until third grade, so i cannot talk much about the student life based on my experience. However, on hearing experiences from my friends, who have been in Delhi, or moved here, after studying there, have just told me, that the student life there is great! It is very easy to just go out there and eat your most favourite dish anytime, at the lowest prices. What more would a student wish for anyways!

The education in New Delhi, is pretty amazing too, few of the best universities in undergraduation are in Delhi. IIT Delhi very famous for its BE computer science course, is also one of the best found there. The Delhi University, is somewhere that everyone aspires to be! With the little knowledge that i have about student lifestyle there, this is all i can say about it!

How much does it cost to live in New Delhi?

Like i have mentioned, i have very little idea about student lifestyle, and living in New Delhi, i am not aware of the cost of living in the city that much. But i can say one thing though, it is way cheaper than the city i live in!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in New Delhi? Is there any advice you can give?

I do not think it would be difficult to find accomodation in New Delhi, there are many PG's available and hostels too. There are also many places for rent, that are available, and could be got at cheaper prices if one is planning to stay there.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food there, like i mentioned, is the best i have had. Infact i miss food in Delhi, the most. I watch a lot of shows, related to food, not just cookery ones, the others as well. An indian show called, Highway On My Plate, talks about the street food, in India. The episode on New Delhi, was the best on so far. They literally went to every street in delhi and ate every dish! I was literally salivating one thousand kilometers away!

My favourite dishes are so many, i couldnt even list them all! What i love to eat the most though are desserts, any kind of dessert for that matter, because i belive that dessert goes to the heart! Other than that i love rajma chawal, chole bhature and everyones favourite gol gappas!

What places would you recommend visiting in New Delhi?

For a person who is visiting Delhi for the first time, and is interested in knowing its history, or the history of India for that matter, one could visit the Qutub Minar, the India Gate, the Buland Darwaza, etc. The parliament house would be another place to visit. For adventure seeking people, one could go to Death valley! I know that sounds scary, but its got the most beautiful views once you reach the top. The entry is pretty restricted and there have been many deaths due to negligence, but if taken care, this could be one of the most beautiful places to visit!

Is it good to eat out in New Delhi? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, it is the best to eat out in New Delhi. I wish i could tell my favourite spots, but since, i have not stayed there for majority of my life i hardly know any. Since i was there for my childhood, the best place that i have been to was Mc donalds (because of happy meal of course), and im sure we all know about that place really well!
