What is it like to live in New Delhi? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

There are certain student friendly areas in Delhi and a lot of places in Delhi and student freindly to live, roam and eat.

What is the student lifestyle like in New Delhi?

Student lifestyle is pretty relaxed in new Delhi. However there are certain curfews after 11pm and there is stronger control for students.

How much does it cost to live in New Delhi?

On an average it costs between 5-10 thousand in an unfurnished shared Appartment. The rent does not include electricity, WiFi or any other services. For that the cost is extra depending on the place.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in New Delhi? Is there any advice you can give?

It is possible that foreign students find accommodation in Delhi a bit difficult.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food has many varied flavours. One has to have a strong stomach to digest street food. However the food is pretty decent and cheap. If one wants they can opt for Tiffin system where the food is homemade and has less spices and you get your own tiffin.

What places would you recommend visiting in New Delhi?

Jama Masjid for architecture and food, Lodhi Garden for strolls, Qutub Minar, Garden of 5 senses, Saket, Gurgaon sector 29, Greater Kailash, Sarojinj Market for cheap shopping, Chandi Chowk, Old Delhi for good food.

Is it good to eat out in New Delhi? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Most famous place to eat is Parothe Wali Gali, Delhi Haat for cuisines all over India, INA market to buy all kinds of meat.

Is the nightlife good in New Delhi? Where is good to go?

Night life is decent but traveling all alone for a foreigners can be a bit difficult.

What advice would you give future students heading to New Delhi?

Do not get scammed. For traveling the best is Delhi Metro. It has connections to most parts of Delhi and outside. Purchase a local SIM such as Airtel from airport. Use TuK Tuk and do not be afraid to bargain and always check prices on Google maps because sometimes you get approximate price for a distance.
