What is it like to live in Nantes? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Nantes is a pretty nice city to live, it looks like Paris in many aspects but with a more human size, with much lower prices. I liked living here, you can always find new things to do an discover new hobbies.

What is the student lifestyle like in Nantes?

As it's not a very huge city, it's quite easy to meet people, moreover, events especially for strudents are often organized and Nantes is a culturally rich city; there are many concerts, exhibitions... And prices are lower when you show your student card.

How much does it cost to live in Nantes?

It depends on where you do live; in the very center, accommodations are more expensive and so do the stores nearby, even if it's much cheaper than in cities like Paris. If you go a bit further from the center, like around the universities, everything is cheaper and there are many tramways and buses that lead you to the heart of the city quickly.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Nantes? Is there any advice you can give?

There are many studios or flats to share for strudents available, there are even some depending on the univ that are cheaper. My advice would be to keep searching on the internet on as much websites as possible, there are some cheap and great flat that are not easy to find, when housing agencies will suggest you more expensive ones and moreover they will take much money for their own.

There are some spots where it's good to go, especially for students, on thursdays, but bars close at 2 or 3 am, that the deceiving point. Best places are bouffay or, better but further, le hangar à bananes.
