What is it like to live in Nantes? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Living in Nantes for three years has been a great opportunity. You can have a lot of cultural experiences (lots of exhibitions and concerts) and you can party as long as you want (some bars are open till 4am).
What is the student lifestyle like in Nantes?
The student is comfortable. You can rent a flat in a quiet place and join easily the city center thanks to public transport.
How much does it cost to live in Nantes?
Go shopping can be expensive if you stay in the city center but there are shops (30 min if you take the tram) which are les expensive in the periphery.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Nantes? Is there any advice you can give?
It's not that difficult. Maybe look at the announces on the internet or talk to some French people.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
I don't really know what to say, you can find everything in the shops. I like vegetables, fish... but also junk food!
What places would you recommend visiting in Nantes?
"Le lieu unique" (exhibitions), Stereolux (concerts), "Les Machines de Nantes" (île de Nantes).
Is it good to eat out in Nantes? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
You can find everything in Nantes, in the shops, the markets and restaurants. One fast food opened last year, they make their own hamburgers and French fries, which are homemade, just like the drinks. The name is VF.
Is the nightlife good in Nantes? Where is good to go?
The nightlife is great! Many bars in the city center, everyone should find one to fit with their own tastes.
What advice would you give future students heading to Nantes?
Enjoy yourself. Study during the week but go out on the weekend!
