What is it like to live in Nantes? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

This year Nantes was the European green capital! It's a really nice city to live in for students. There are so many cultural activities and events; for example the "Duchesse Anne" Castle, the island machines...

It's a really green city with lots of parks, and many waterways.

What is the student lifestyle like in Nantes?

There are actually a lot of students in Nantes, and so lots of parties and many concerts (particularly on Thurdays night).

How much does it cost to live in Nantes?

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Nantes? Is there any advice you can give?

The cheapest accomodation is in Crous; for 230 € you can have a 9m2 room with your own bathroom and a shared kitchen.

But for a 12/ 15 m2 flat next to the university or in the center it can be around 400/500€ per month.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Nantes in close to Britain so you can find lots of "creperies" with "gallettes de blé noir", it's not expensive at all, and there are los of different flavours.

There are also local pastries, with butter and local caramel.

What places would you recommend visiting in Nantes?

I recommend the Duchesse Anne ' s Castle, the island machines, the Versaille Island, the Plants Garden, the Passage Pommeraye, the Lu Tower...

Is the nightlife good in Nantes? Where is good to go?

In Nantes there are lots of nice bars, and also some pubs. By night there are lots of people in. There are also some nightclubs but it's a bit expensive. And then there are some free dancing bars.
