Why did you choose to go to Nantes, France?

Mainly because of the university - Audencia Science Com. It is considered to be one of the best in France. Also, important criteria for me was the closeness of Nantes to the ocean and overall student-friendly reputation.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

1700 euro from my university for almost 4 months. Not that much but enough to pay for a decent apartment together with someone.

What is the student lifestyle like in Nantes?

Going to the oceanside whenever students want, it's cheap and very close, the weather is warm until October. Also, lots of parks, museums, nice coffee shops and pubs with parties organized specifically for students to get to know each other. It is very easy to meet and join French local groups of students.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Nantes to other students?

City - definitely yes!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Nantes?

didn't get to the dorm so we had to find an apartment on Airbnb which is usually not cheap. Together with my roommate, we payed 450 euro each for our studio in the center of Nantes.

How much does it cost to live in Nantes?

450 euros average monthly rent + around 250 euro for food monthly. 700-900 euro monthly should be enough for quite a fancy life.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

At the Audencia there are a bunch of French courses. The language is hard but manageable.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Nantes from your city?

Legs! If you are in a hurry - trams. Bicycles are also quite cheap.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Botanical Garden

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Nantes in the future?

Don't be afraid, you will manage. Nantes will help you, it won't let you down.
