How long did your scholarship last? How much money did you receive to help you cope with the cost of living?

It lasted 10 months.

What is the student life like in Nancy?

It is a lot of fun, the association ESN Student Network organises many travels.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Nancy to other students?

Yes.

What is the food like?

I love French food and I really recommend going to the restaurant Le Bouche à Oreille to eat fondue!

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Nancy?

No, but there was still some confusion.

What is the cost of living in Nancy?

It depends, I spent a lot of money on the journey but 800 euros should be enough. Accommodation is very cheap and you are eligible to receive rental assistance from the CAF.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the university?

Yes there are, but I recommend students to learn the language before coming to Nancy, it makes things a little easier.

What is the easiest or most economical way to travel to Nancy from your city?

It is easier to go there first by flight to Paris or Luxembourg than travelling by train.

Where do you recommend to go on a night out in Nancy?

It depends on the kind of music you like but I prefer student house parties.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Nancy?

Le Bouche à Oreille, La Friterie de la gare and Flunch, which is very cheap.

What interesting cultural sites are there to visit?

You can spend a day in Metz in the Centre Pompidou or in Luxembourg. There are also museums at the Place Stanislas.

It is a small city which means that making new friends is easy.
