La Distillerie

Montreal is one of the most well-known cities in Canada. And, well, there are many reasons for this. It is beautiful, it has tons of culture, there is always something to do, it has an amazing laid-back cafe-culture, and some hip and generic restaurants and bars.

Bars are definitely a Montreal speciality. No matter what kind of drink you are feeling or craving, or what kind of vibe you are looking for, or how drunk and wild you want to get, Montreal has a place for you!

One of my favourite places to go in Montreal is La Distillerie. There are three locations in Montreal, conveniently. However, I have only been to one, and it is so great that I keep on coming back. I always go to the one on Rue Ontario, because it is the closest one to where I usually stay.

It is a very dark, not very-well-lit place. The interior is mostly wooden, and it has a very chill, relaxed, and homey atmosphere. The bar itself plays very good music, and has a great playlist, in my opinion. They elegantly mix the newest music with classic and timless old hits. There are very high chances that you will be singing along with you friends the entire night. I also guarantee you that you will make some new friends there as well! University students and young people frequent La Distillerie the most!

Now, let us get to the best part... The drink menu! La Distillerie has tons of drinks. And when I say that, I mean that they have A LOT of drinks to choose from. They even have categories of drinks - so they have something for everyone and every mood and every flavour. They even have some nice hot alcoholic beverages for the winter. They have fruity and even spicey drinks for the summer. Believe it or not, they even have a little booklet for all their drinks, flavours, varieties, and categories. The best part is that their drinks come in very cute and homey mason jars. Can you say "tres hipster?" And it does not stop there. These mason jars also come in two sizes. One is standard drink size, and the other is a litre. Yes, you read that correctly. A litre. I strongly recommend getting the litre, because it is the best value for your money. And, the more drink, the better, right?

The thing about La Distillerie is that it is a cool spot just to chill, and hangout with your friends. La Distillerie is not a place that you would need to dress up for. If you are looking for a fancy dinner, or a place to get classy for, La Distillerie is not the place to go. You will not be able to buy a big dinner here.
