Experience in México, D.F., Mexico by Saskia
What is it like to live in México, D.F.? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
If you're looking for something calm and quiet, you better turn around and go because this city is so big and full of stuff you can do, places you can go...it is so dynamic and has this rich culture, you never get tired of chilling around. I would recommend it also, if you're ready to deal with lot of people and movement. It's like a crazy big city with old and modern buildings.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Dishes are great but spicy. As people say, it's not for weak stomachs but there are also some dishes everyone can take. Mexico has from traditional food to Chinese food and fast food like hamburgers or sushi, but I recommend the traditional (chilaquiles, enfrijoladas, quesadillas and horchata water are some of my favorite)
What places would you recommend visiting in México, D.F.?
Bellas Artes, the Museums, Cafe Tacuba, Teotihuacán are some of the places you can (must) visit.
Is it good to eat out in México, D.F.? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
I think yes, there are lot of options and its not that expensive, My favorite is Café Tacuba
Is the nightlife good in México, D.F.? Where is good to go?
It is good but seems pretty different to the day life. Especially if you go to Bellas Artes or walk down the streets. And there is the Zocalo too and the Turibus (a bus for touring).
What advice would you give future students heading to México, D.F.?
All I know (because i haven't really live there as a student, is that it is a little expensive but there are like, discounts and even free pases to the museums for students (all you need is you student ID) and like in all the big cities you must take care with you and your things.
