What is it like to live in México, D.F.? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Yes I highly recommend living here. It is a huge city, very cheap for european or north american standards, with great food and many places to visit. It's public transport is very cheap and well connected.
What is the student lifestyle like in México, D.F.?
It depends on the university. I would say that the best student life in every aspect is on the Auotonomous University of Mexico (UNAM)
How much does it cost to live in México, D.F.?
As I mentioned before. It is very cheap for european and north american standards. Food, drink and public transport is very affordable
Is it difficult to find accommodation in México, D.F.? Is there any advice you can give?
Not too difficult. There are webpages like compartodepa.com where I have found most of my roommates. Or private facebook groups like Roomies DF. I would say that finding a cheap place near universities is fairly easy
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
You will never run out of different food to try in Mexico City. There is food at any day at anytime from all over the world. My favorite dish is Mole and enchiladas, but if you are looking for an afterhours snack, tacos are always the best option
What places would you recommend visiting in México, D.F.?
It depends on the type of place:
Cultural: The museum of natural history, the Palacio de Bellas Artes
Trendy: Colonia Roma and Colonia Condesa
Nightlife: Any cantina in downtown or cantina la coyoacana, bar pata negra, bar la valentina

best pozole: la casa de toño
best quesadillas: mercado de coyoacan
best mole: el cardenal
best spicy food: la fonda 99
Is the nightlife good in México, D.F.? Where is good to go?
Nightlife: Any cantina in downtown or cantina la coyoacana, bar pata negra, bar la valentina, casino español, bar milán, la bipolar. For additional references there is a website with a lot of information on places to visit called chilango.com (a chilango is how people from mexico call people that were born in mexico city)
What advice would you give future students heading to México, D.F.?
Get to know the city. Go out every chance you get. The subway is super cheap take advantage of that. Stick to the famous zones: condesa,roma norte y sur, coyoacán, downtown, garibaldi, colonia juarez. There are a looot of places to visit there.
