O'Brady's Irish Pub

There are several "Irish" pubs in Marseille and whilst all the other are good pubs, the closest thing you will get to an authentic Irish pub in the city is at O'Brady's. If you somehow didn't know it was an Irish pub from the decor outside, you will know for sure once you set foot inside the front door. Jerseys, flags and scarves of multiple different sportsand countries, some of them older than the pub itself, cover the entirety of the ceiling and adorn every inch of free space in the pub. Make no mistake about it, this is a die-hard sports bar. 

A large open fire, a staple of any Irish pub will greet you with a blast of warmth as soon as you walk in (Not that you really need it in Marseille!) and all sorts of classic Irish signs and saying are displayed throughout the entire pub, both inside and outside in the smoking area. You could spend hours just going around reading all of the signs and jokes littered throughout the pub.

Football fans will no doubt recognise the pub's logo as being strikingly similar to that of Glasgow Celtic's one. That is because O'Brady's is the HQ of the only Celtic supporters club in the whole of France. If you are a fan of Celtic you will be able to watch all of their matches here.  The atmosphere for OM matches is also unique as special music and lighting set the mood before and after each match. 

The pub also serves some typical Irish food in the evenings but the favourite of all of the Erasmus students has to be their famous Toasted Sandwiches! Many an Erasmus student has been rescued from a chronic hangover thanks to an O'Brady's ham and cheese toastie! Drinks are quite expensive in the pub but there is always a different beer of the month available for just €5 so it's not too bad for poor Erasmus students looking after their money! I highly recommend this pub to any Erasmus students looking for a great place to have a drink and watch some sport. Ask for Shaggy when you are there, he is the Irish manager there and that is quite rare to find in an Irish pub in France!
