It's a relatively small city with everything you could wish for. Great people, interesting culture, good food.

Student parties on Tuesday, food is cheap for students, and professors are usually really kind.

How much does it cost to live in Maribor?

It's fairly cheap, you can easily get a student dorm for cca 200€/month and the food for students is cheap.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Maribor? Is there any advice you can give?

No. Check student dorms first, if you can't get a room there, there are also private student dorm (a bit more expensive, but also with bigger rooms).

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is good, I'd recommend trying "čevapi" or "golaz", if you are vegan, there are also great options, you just have to ask around (my favourite vegan place is Loving Hut).

What places would you recommend visiting in Maribor?

Kalvarija, Lent, the city park, Mariborski otok, etc.

Is it good to eat out in Maribor? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes. Students get coupons so you can get cheaper meals and most restaurants enable you to pay with those, so you'll pay 3€ per meal (includes: soup, main course, and a salad). My favorite spots: Loving Hut (vegan), Falafel, Papagayo, ...

Is the nightlife good in Maribor? Where is good to go?

Yes. Student parties every Tuesday (most clubs organize at least sth), otherwise in the city center you have to look for Poštna street (a street with a bunch of bars and good music).
