Road to Mannheim: much more than Primark!

If you're staying in Heidelberg, at least once you'll go to Mannheim. In just 15 minutes by train ( or 45 minutes by tram n. 5), you'll arrive in this modern and busy town.

Heidelberg's alter ego willl perfectly suit to all those who are looking for more than just "a nice town with a wonderful view". Are you looking for clubs, fancier restaurants or just a wider choise of shops? You are in the right place.

And yes, the three-floor Primark shop will be one of your first stops. I have never been  a fashion victim, but I must admit that I spent more than 3 hours there... and I was just looking for a pillow (yeeaah, just a pillow). If you're travelling by tram, get off at Rosengarten and you're arrived but do not spend all your time there: Mannheim is much more than that.

Mannheim is entertainment: there're many clubs and pubs and don't forget about the SAP Arena, where every year many incredible concerts take place.

But Mannheim is culture too.

One thing you should absolutely visit is Mannheim palace. The eighteenth century Mannheim Palace, former home of the Prince-elector of the Palatinare, now houses the University of Mannheim. If you're interested in arts or just love the Beauty and the Beast, come and take a look!

The city's  slogan is "Leben. Im Quadrat." (Life. Squared.). I'm not really sure about its meaning (probably it has to do with the city's structure) but it sounded good.

Anyway, the symbol of Mannheim is der Wasserturm, a water tower completed in 1886, 60 metres high. It's cool... but in the end, it is just a water tower.

Mannheim offers much more opportunities than Heidelberg, but Ich habe mein Herz in Heidelberg vergessen.. so, it will be always my favourite spot in Germany,
