What is life like in Malaga? Would you recommend this city?

The city is big and thus very pleasant to live in. It is not at all difficult to get from place to place thanks to the transport. The Malagueños are very nice and they go out often.

How is student life in Malaga?

It’s cool, as Erasmus a lot of events were organised for us (eg: Welcome Evening at the Uni. ) The students go out very often, as much during the week as the weekends.

What’s the costs like in Malaga?

Life is not very expensive in Malaga. You can easily eat out for 5 euros if not less. For rent, the ends up being around 250 and 300 euros a month for accommodation in the centre.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Malaga? Have you any advice?

No, I suggest subscribing to the groups such as “Alojamiento en Malaga” for the year you’re going. Facebook has so many of this kind of group.

How is the food? What are your favourites?

It’s super and cheap. I love the Tapas in general, but the Patatas Bravas and Alioli from “Pepa y Pepe” (in the city centre) are AMAZING.

What places must you visit in Malaga?

I recommend climbing up to Mirador du Gibralfaro, visiting the castle’s ruins, eating at least once at Lambik (in Teatinos area), and going to the rooftop bars. Malaga also has so many museums like the Picasso Museum (free on Sundays after 3pm).

For eating out in Malaga, can you tell us your favourite places?

Le Lambik (Teatinos area), Pepa y Pepe, Merced 14, Tragatapas.

How is night-life in Malaga? Where must you go out?

Bar “Merced 14” organises Erasmus events every week and discounts on the drinks prices.

What advice would you give to students who are going to Malaga next year?

Travel as much as possible. You’re lucky to be in a city which is in a region with lots of Andalusian towns like Seville, Córdoba and even Granada.
