I would recommend it. It's a very nice city where there are a million different things to do. A tip for for girls going: take care of yourself, don't go out alone at night in some neighbourhoods.

What is the student lifestyle in Lyon?

There are a lot of students, because there are a lot of universities here, so it's easy, as a new student, to get integrated. Besides, there are a lot of students on their Erasmus placement here, so you won't be alone.

How much does it cost to live in Lyon?

It's expensive. It depends on the neighbourhood, you have to choose well, a 20 m² flat can cost between €300 and €600.

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Lyon? Do you have any advice?

It's a matter of finding a flat to share. It doesn't matter if your flat is far away from where you study/work, because Lyon has a very good public transport network.

What is the food like there? What are some of your favourite dishes?

The food is very good. There are a lot of different dishes for foreigners to try, such as crepes, les quenelles lyonnaises (a type of pastry made from flour and filled with meat or fish), the rosette and the pralines in all different types of sweet dishes.

Where would you recommend to visit in Lyon?

La basilique de Fourvière, le parc de la Tete d'Or, the Confluence museum, le "vieux Lyon", the shopping centres in Part Dieu and Confluence.

And to eat in Lyon? What are some of your favourite places to go?

There are a lot of bakeries that have really nice sandwiches and salads. In "vieux lyon" I can recommend: Mezzo di Pasta where the serve really good pasta, Chez Jules and La Boulangerie du Balais.

Where would you recommend for a night out in Lyon?

The clubs like Le Loft or Le Bloc. The bars in the "vieux Lyon" neighbourhood.
