How did you find living in Lyon? Do you recommend it? What is the city like?

Lyon is a really pleasant city because it is not only a city with a lot of things to do (outings, cultural etc) but also a city where you can move around easily (metro, bike) and where you can go out quickly to get some fresh air!

What is the student ambiance like in Lyon?

It seems to me that the students are happy! There are 3 big universities and lots of schools. The majority are in the city centre. It's not necessarily easy to make friends when you don't know anyone but there are associations and groups on Facebook which allow you to meet people.

What is the cost of living in Lyon?

It costs 500-600 euros a month for a furnished apartment or a residence.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Lyon? Do you have any advice?

It is very difficult to find accommodation in Lyon. The student residences are quickly filled and require students to stay for a whole school year rather than just a semester. Cheap, furnished apartments are rare and the French homeowners often ask students for a lot of guarantees.

What is the food like in the city? What are your favourite dishes?

Lyon is the gastronomy capital of France! So you won't be disappointed.

What places do you recommend seeing in Lyon?

Place Bellecour, Notre Dame de Fourvière, The Opera of Lyon, Parc de la Tête d'Or, Confluence, the banks of the Rhone...

Where do you recommend going out in Lyon?

The banks of the Rhone to have a drink until late in the night, the pubs in Terreaux district!
