What is it like to live in Lyon? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I like to live in Lyon because it's such a beautiful big city, you can find whatever you want. It is not as big as Paris and I like Lyon for that. You can visit a lot of historical places, to eat you have a lot of choice and different quality level of food. Wherever you come from, you can find yourself in Lyon.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lyon?

Lyon it's a student city, you have a lot of Erasmus too ! Sometimes French people can be cold, not very sociable but they are so nice with people. You have a lot of partys, a lot of clubs, cool bars, ... All what a student need.

How much does it cost to live in Lyon?

To live in Lyon can be expensive. It depend on the person, what he/she wants. But as I said before, you can find everything at everyplace, you just have to search the low-cost places, restaurants, shops, ...

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Lyon? Is there any advice you can give?

I think that it is difficult, I live there with my parents so I don't have that problem but my Erasmus friends told me that it is difficult because it is expensive and hard to find a good accommodation with good prices. My advice is that you don't especially need to take a room in a student residence because it is not the best and it is expensive. For the same price, you can find a good apartment with flatmates, and you meet new people so that's good.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is so great, we have a good gastronomic reputation. You have restaurants everywhere so yes, it's good. You can order food from restaurants and get delivered with Deliveroo, Ubereats. After parties you can go and get some Kebab in Hotel De Ville, always open, and after drinking a lot you will be so happy to see these snacks open ;). For me, student, my favorite restaurant it's "Paradis du Fruit", you can find one in Confluence and an other one in Part-Dieu, it's so good you have to try it.

What places would you recommend visiting in Lyon?

You need to visit Fourvière, you can see all the city it is so beautiful on sunny days. The "Musé Galo-Romain", Vieux Lyon (beautiful place to eat a croissant), Croix-Rousse, ... a lot of beautiful places.
