How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship lasted from the 1st of September until the 31st of May. I got €900 a month, because I was a recipient of a government grant.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lyon?

It's really good, it's incredible! There are people from all over the world there.

Would you recommend the city and the university of Lyon to other students?

I'd recommend the city, of course! As I said, I went to a private school, not to a public university.

What is the food like there?

It's good, there's a lot of cheese. It's very different to Spanish food, but you'll end up getting used to it.

The food in the restaurants in Vieux Lyon is very good.

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Lyon?

I got sick of looking online, I found a residence eventually: Parc Harmonie. And actually it was very good. A bit far out of the centre, but it only takes 10/15 minutes to get there by metro.

How much does it cost to live in Lyon?

A lot of money each month, I spent a minimum of the €900 I got from the grant.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the university?

I went knowing some basic English, and I actually improved my English quite a lot, enough to take exams in English without any issues.

I spoke a little French there, only when I went to the shops or when I went to the French for foreigners class at the university.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lyon from your home city?

By plane, without a doubt. I'm from Cadiz and there are very few connections with the other means of transport from there.

Where would you recommend for a night out in Lyon?

LOFT, without a doubt. The best club ever!

And to eat in Lyon? What are some of your favourite places to go?

Definitely Vieux Lyon. You can eat typical local dishes there.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Everything in the city centre is beautiful and there's an impressive panoramic view of Lyon from the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière.
