Why did you choose to go to Lyon, France?

I chose Lyon, because it's a city that has all kinds of facilities a student needs: great public transport, an international student atmosphere and high quality education.

What is the food like there?

It's the gastronomic capital! A must see are the bouchon lyonnais.

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Lyon?

I lived with a family in Vaise, it cost €350 a month.

How much does it cost to live in Lyon?

For a student, including food, accommodation and some extras like clothes or shoes, it costs approximately €800.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the university?

Hardly anyone speaks English, sometimes not even at the airport, but they can be more open to speaking Spanish with you.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lyon from your home city?

My flight was from Mexico City-Madrid-Lyon.

Where would you recommend for a night out in Lyon?

La Sucrière, the best day to visit it is Sunday and you can buy tickets on its website.

And to eat in Lyon? What are some of your favourite places to go?

My favourite bouchon is Le Petit Glouton en Vieux Lyon, because of its food (and crepes) and la Brasserie Georges for its atmosphere, jazz music and obviously its traditional French food.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Lyon is full of museums to visit, as for culture, it's a city that has a lot of history, there are museums to suit all ages and tastes. There are some really interesting ones, such as the history museum, the Lumiere Brothers' museum or the miniature cinema museum.
