Why did you choose to go to Lyon, France?

I choose Lyon because its a multicultural city, modern but with a lot of history and traditions. Beautiful architecture, all the services and the fun you need! :)

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I did not receive any help. The CAF for latinamerican students only work if you stay for at least a whole year

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lyon to other students?

I totally recomend the city of Lyon, is great! About the university, make your research for the best option.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lyon?

No, because I choosed the residence of the Ucly university. But there are a lot of options.

How much does it cost to live in Lyon?

Without the residence, at least 400 euros a month. Considering I dont use the transport often. Transport is 35 per month for students and if you dont use it much, 14.30 euros.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The Ucly has free french courses but only twice a week. It is not easy to comunicate without knowing the language. People are not very patient about it.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lyon from your city?

There is not option but to take two flights. Lima-Madrid and Madrid-Lyon. Train from París is expensive.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lyon?

Go to the Vieux Lyon and look for a Bouchon you like a couple of times. Then eat at home.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

A LOT. Lyon has many cultural places. The historical ones, museum, presentations, festivals... Go to the tourist information center to make sure you dont miss anything

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lyon in the future?

It gets very rainy in the winter and spring.
Get a bank account as soon as posible. BNP PARIBAS has a good option for students with no charge.
For the phone, Free is a good option.
Go to class and study please!
