Santa Monica Pier

The Santa Monica Pier is one of the coolest places I have visited in the United States of America. I visited it also while playing "Grand Theft Auto", and if it wasn't for the game, I wouldn't know this place existed in real life.

Sometimes the kid inside me wants to get out, and this is the perfect place for it. I mean, look what you can find here, so many nice attractions. But when I visited they were closed because they were filming scenes for a movie.

Still, there was one place which wasn't closed: An arcade full of video games and the chance to win some tickets.

I spent some time there, about 1 hour, and I wasted more or less €10. There was one video game which really got me addicted, because I got very close to getting the jackpot. After some time, I finally got the jackpot, twice. The result was me having a lot of tickets:

In the end all those tickets got me some candy and a magnet. Yeah, pretty much a waste of money but the kid inside me ended up very happy.

Of course, there is not only this hall and attractions like the ferris wheel. All in all, the pier is very relaxing, you can watch the sea while you listen to the music played by street artists. It was pretty warm so you could also chill out on the beach. I also went swimming even though the sea was really cold (because it was in March), I would say about 15-16 degrees. Besides, from the pier you get an amazing view both of the beach and the hills.

There was also a pretty cool restaurant, "Bubba Gump Shrimp". It was the restaurant from the movie "Forrest Gump". I did not expect it to exist in the real world!
