What is it like to live in Ljubljana? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Ljubljana is best when it's sunny and worst when it's rainy. Life in the city is good. There are plenty of shops everywhere, from small to big. There is a lot of public places, parks, cafes and restaurants where you can hang out and spend your quality time. Everything is on the hand. I would recommend Ljubljana for sure!

What is the student lifestyle like in Ljubljana?

It is quite good, you can relax through the year and have a lot of fun, but you have to organise your lifestyle during exams (there are 2 separate months in a year when there is an exam period).

How much does it cost to live in Ljubljana?

Depends on how much luxury do you want to live. From 350 to 550€/month. Apartments are often expensive and dorms are cheaper. Cheapest eating out is with student vouchers (bons); you can get your whole meal for around 4€. When you want to party and have fun, you need at least 20€.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Ljubljana? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not difficult. There are plenty of webpages where you can find your place to stay (Nepremicnine, Bolha, etc. ). Very useful is a page on the Facebook called Stanovanjce, Stanovanjce, Kje si? . We also have student dorms all over the city. Private apartments are often quite expensive.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You can find all sort of food, from traditional Slovenian restaurants to Chinese, Mexican and Asian. Normally food is quite delicious.

What places would you recommend visiting in Ljubljana?

Ljubljana castle, Nebotičnik, Plaža, Old city centre, etc.

Is it good to eat out in Ljubljana? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It's often quite good and delicious. I prefer "Cantina Mexicana", "Aroma", "Meta & Bazilika", "Vodnikov hram", "WOK", etc.

Is the nightlife good in Ljubljana? Where is good to go?

Depends on the weather. You can always have a drink in some of the pubs and cafes or you can go to disco clubs. There are some cool places like "Maček", "Makalonca", "Cirkus", "TOP", "Companeros", etc.

What advice would you give future students heading to Ljubljana?

You will enjoy staying here. Ljubljana has got its own atmosphere you can really get used to it. The centre is quite small but you can find here everything you need. Shops are well stocked, bars and cafés are everywhere and public transport is quite good organised.
