Ljubljana is a good place to live. I would definitely recommend it. The city is small but it has green surroundings, wide range or parks.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ljubljana?

There are many activities for entertainment in Ljubljana. You really cannot get bored.

How much does it cost to live in Ljubljana?

Well that is important, the cost is quite high for the Slovene standard. It depends on your requirements and needs. Higher needs and requirements the higher cost will be. I could say that the lowest cost is 250 euros (including all costs) and then higher.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Ljubljana? Is there any advice you can give?

Finding accommodation took some time. There are Erasmus tutors and many websites (active Facebook groups) that will help you to find rooms to rent.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Typical Balkan food is mashed potatoes with roast chicken and beef soup on Sunday. My favorite food is golaž (it is Slovene traditional food) and of course best dessert Kremšnita (Bled cream cake, which is the best one you can find in Bled).

What places would you recommend visiting in Ljubljana?

The castle should be the first one on your list, Tivoli park, Congress square, Triple bridge, park Trnovo, Cathedral in city center, Dragon bridge and so many places.

Is it good to eat out in Ljubljana? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes. As a student you will have student priority because you will have in some restaurants (not all of them) student discounts which you can use; all the students have them. I have no favorite spots, I could say that the restaurants that offer student discount. Imagine to have a big meal for low budget.

Is the nightlife good in Ljubljana? Where is good to go?

Nightlife is good, especially outdoor nightlife on wintertime and summertime. But there are also clubs for students.

What advice would you give future students heading to Ljubljana?

Go for it. Experience the city, follow your intuition and do not miss that chance. Go out of your comfort zone and you will definitely fall in love with this city.
