What is it like to live in Ljubljana? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The most charming city I ever stayed in. I did my Erasmus there and I really wish I could do it again. It`s pretty small as for a capital and not crowded (which I really loved!) with plenty of places to go for a walk. Hang out on Kongresni with ur friends or just have a really nice lunch next to the river... Adorable!

What is the student lifestyle like in Ljubljana?

Ljubljana is a decent student city. From what I remember it has around 50 000 students and when I was there, there were around 500 ERASMUS! So basically u can meet students everywhere around the city and, especially, in Rozna Dolina campus which includes 14 dormitories full of life each day!

How much does it cost to live in Ljubljana?

It`s more expensive than in Poland - that for sure. But if u are coming from countries that already introduced euro, you may find it cheap. Studentski bon for meals simply rock! U can eat a full dinner in a restaurant for 2,5 euro!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Ljubljana? Is there any advice you can give?

I don`t know much about it. I had a dormitory provided and from what I know it`s not really hard to get one if u are a foreign student. Private vacancies usually cost twice as much as dormitories.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Awesome! I don`t mean the typical Slovenian food (which is also good - I am from Slavic country as well) but in Ljubljana we ate away each day. It`s because of studentski bon (already mentioned) that allows students to use nice discounts for food.

What places would you recommend visiting in Ljubljana?

a walk on Roznik, Ljubljana castle with its view and basically all the other places in the old part of the city. Simply awesome! There are also plenty of places near LJ to go to. Especially mountains for some hiking.

Is it good to eat out in Ljubljana? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Cantina Mexicana, Fresco.

Is the nightlife good in Ljubljana? Where is good to go?

Could be better but you can find some nice pubs and discos which are usually free to entrance for students/erasmus. There are usually some decent days when there are Erasmus parties.

What advice would you give future students heading to Ljubljana?

Get warm clothes if you are not used to snow and enjoy every day in Slovenia!
