Why did you choose to go to Ljubljana, Slovenia?

Ljubljana is charming and architecturally beautiful city with nice people, a vast majority of whom speaks English and/or German. It also has a great location and is a perfect place to stay at if you are planning on exploring Central, Eastern or Southern Europe. Additionally, University of Ljubljana is one of the best universities in this part of Europe.

Scholarship - for a duration of exchange, typical Erasmus + scholarship.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ljubljana?

Study hard, party hard.

Absolutely.

It is a mix of everything, but in general it is just delicious!

It depends on an individual but including transportation, accommodation, food and everything else, about 300EUR/month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available in the University?

Language courses are available, but good luck with that one. Few basic phrases are similar to other Slavic languages, but grammar...

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Ljubljana from your city?

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Ljubljana?

Metelkova street or simply hang out in the city centre.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Explore Ljubljana but make sure to visit sights outside of the capital. Remember, in 90 min you can get just about anywhere from Ljubljana and it takes less than that to get from the seaside to the mountains. Bled, Piran, Ptuj, Škocjanske jame, Predjamski grad, Planica, Postonjska jama,... you name it.

Is there any other advice that you could give to future students who are going to Ljubljana?

There are many things to be seen in Ljubljana and in Slovenia, so go and explore the country, but also take the opportunity of good location and wander around Central&Eastern Europe and the Balkans.
