Why did you choose to go to Ljubljana, Slovenia?

I wanted to do Erasmus in Eastern Europe and this was the only choice for me. My first choice was Istanbul, Turkey but at the last moment this new partner in Ljubljana appeared and I chose it immediately.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scholarship was at first for one semester but then they prolonged it for one year. Around 150euros a month

What is the student lifestyle like in Ljubljana?

In Ljubljana is great to be a student, the state helps a lot and gives many discounts (like the food system) which facilitates a lot life there. Besides that there's great parties and events specially for students, which is great.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Ljubljana to other students?

Of course, its great to study there!

What is the food like?

The food is good but the most restaurants are from other countries around, I've tried really few typical slovene food there.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Ljubljana?

It was really easy.

How much does it cost to live in Ljubljana?

That depends on many things.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I've done EILC course for a month and it was enough to learn the basics. Most people speak really good English so its really easy to communicate. After one year and living in 2nd semester with slovene people helped me a lot to comprehend better the conversations in slovene.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Ljubljana from your city?

By flight to Venice and then train or bus or goopti do Ljubljana.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Ljubljana?

Metelkova definitely

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Ljubljana?

Dabuda for sure.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Metelkova, kinosiska

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Ljubljana in the future?

Buy a bike and ride it everywhere! Always lock it well
