Erasmus Experience in Ljubljana, Slovenia, by Mediha
Why did you choose to go to Ljubljana, Slovenia?
To be honest, I chose Ljubljana because I had no other option.
What is the student lifestyle like in Ljubljana?
I am a student on the Faculty of Economics, and the lifestyle for economic students is projects, projects, and more projects. Beside the projects everything else is okay.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Ljubljana to other students?
I would definitely recommend the city and the university, but if you are coming to the Faculty of Economics, you should know that you have to study and work a lot, but at the same time you will get all the knowledge you need.
What is the food like?
The food is okay, you have all kind of restaurants and the best part is that the food is really cheap for students if you have student bones, so I would definitely recommend to get the bones as soon as you come here.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Ljubljana?
It didn't cost me anything to find accommodation in Ljubljana, but it's really hard to find something. A lot of students struggled to find something, so before you come here, first find an apartment... You will save yourself a lot time and headaches.
How much does it cost to live in Ljubljana?
When it comes to the costs in Ljubljana, usually a single room costs around 250 euros (expenses included), for food around 100 euros, and some additional costs, for parties and stuff like that around 50 euros, so all in all you don't need more than 450 euros a month to live in Ljubljana.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
There are courses available to learn the Slovenian language, and because it is similar to my language for me it is not that hard to learn it.
