Why did you choose to go to Ljubljana, Slovenia?

It was a random choice, because I've never been there before, but I consider it as one of the very best decisions of my life so far :) It's such an amazing city!! i've fallen in love with Ljubljana

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My program was a professional internship program, and I was given 300 €/months, for a 3-months-long period of time.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ljubljana?

It's very amazing, there are several opportunities to have fun, but the educational level is also satisfactory, you can learn a lot there! :)

Would you recommend the city and the University of Ljubljana to other students?

ABSOLUTELY!!!

What is the food like?

It's very delicious, there are many typical dishes, but they are not too much unfamiliar for an Eastern-European taste.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Ljubljana?

It's rather easy if you're a student, because student dormitories are very cheap, but you can also get affordable rooms in the city centre for rent, it's about 200-300 €/months, all costs inclusive.

How much does it cost to live in Ljubljana?

It's hard to state a stable level of costs, it depends very much on the lifestyle, but I would say if you're living in a dormitory, one month costs nearly 300 €/months.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The most important expressions like HELLO, HOW ARE YOU, I WOULD LIKE TO BUY..., THANK YOU are easy to remeber, nevertheless the Slovenian language is not so easy. Polish and Checz people have a biiig for! ;)

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Ljubljana from your city?

By the train, but I have to go to Budapest first. There is no direct connection from South-Hungary.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Ljubljana?

to the castle, and to one of the several pubs nearby the riverside of Ljubljanica river...oh!! :)

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Ljubljana?

I really liked the huge variety of international cuisines, especially the Mexican restaurant near to Tivoli Park!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

City centre, small design shops, many pubs and restaurants, Tivoli Park, Metelkova quarter, National Stadion, and so on and so forth...too many to name it all!

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Ljubljana in the future?

GO FOR IT!!! ;) Believe me you won't regret!!
