Why did you choose to go to Ljubljana, Slovenia?

I have chosen Ljubljana because the program on the faculty wast mostly the same as on mine faculty and also because it is a very close country for me since we were once in the same country-Yugoslavia, and I wanted to see how it is like in Slovenia for which i have heard a lot of nice things :)

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I was in Ljubljana for 5 months and my scolarship was 1000Eur per month. I didn't have right to stay in a dormitory so i had to rent an appartment.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ljubljana?

Students lifestile in Ljubljna is very well organised with lotof activities, trips and benefits for students like meal coupons, transportation, sports etc.

Also faculties have courses o English so it is easy to follow lectures and the shedule for the clases is very well organised for students to have a lot of free time

Would you recommend the city and the University of Ljubljana to other students?

I would highly recomend Ljubljana and University of Ljubljana because they are very organised, student life, activities, support everything function excelent.

What is the food like?

The food is great. There are a lot of restaurants that offer all kinds of food from all parts of the world-chinese, japanese, italian, french, mexican and local food is very tasty too

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Ljubljana?

It was very hard for me to find accomodation since I was supposed to stay for only 5 months, nobody wanted to rent us teh appartment for that period of time, they prefer students that will stay one year. At the end we had to ask for a help of an agency

How much does it cost to live in Ljubljana?

It costs a lot, at least more than it csts in my country. Renting appartment is very expensive even if you are sharing it. Going out can also be expensive and food, if you eat beside the student coopons you get every month

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Well, I'm not that competent to tell is it easy or not because Slovenian is very similar to my language-Montenegrin, so it wasn't that hard for me. There are language course so I think foreign student won't have much problems. And Slovenians speak good English too

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Ljubljana from your city?

the easiest way is with airplane because it takes only 1 hour and it costs around 160Eur. But the cheapest way is to go by bus or train but that way can take about two days or more

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Ljubljana?

Well it depends what you prefer to do or listen. You can always have good time with your friend in local pubs with the beer or hot wine during winter. Or if you prefer to go on a real party I would recomend Circus, Top, KMS; Metelkova ulica for different and alternative music. You can find everyting you like in Ljubljana

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Ljubljana?

There are a lot of good restaurants in Ljubljana. Kantina Mexikana if you like mexicana food, Pizzeria Fresko e best pizza, Mrecator's restaurant, Tunel, Spar's restaurant in BTC etc

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Main Ljubljana's square, Ljubljana's castle, Metelkova ulica, old Emona town, Tivoli Park and simply streets of Ljubljana

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Ljubljana in the future?

My advice for students that won't be living in the dormitories is to start looking for the appartment before they arrive in Ljubljana, to call people and to not be too picky :))

Enjoy your stay and bring a lot of warm clothes if you are staying during winter :)
