I was a comenius Language Assistant in Ljubljana. Actually, I did not choose. My National Agency in Turkey made this decision.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I have lived in Ljubljana for 7 months. I was paid around 750 euro per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ljubljana?

There are a lot of Erasmus Students in Ljubljana. It is generally like having erasmus parties and also there are those huge trips with a lot of students from different departments (skiing, Balkan Tours etc)

Would you recommend the city and the University of Ljubljana to other students?

I can not comment on University of Ljubljana as I did not study (I was not a student. I was an assistant). regard,ng the city, Ljubljana is a very nice city almost in the middle of Europe. Transportation is quite good. It is really easy to reach other countries and cities especially by train. Well, nature... Nature is wonderful in Ljubljana. Everywhere is green almost during the whole year. It is a little bit cold but once you get used to it, you feel better.

What is the food like?

Well, I can not say that it is the best around the world. It is fine but not for my taste.

There are language courses available at university, but it is not easy to learn Slovene Language. Well, at least for me, it was a little bit difficult and confusing for me

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Ljubljana from your city?

It is possible to go by bus or car but not a good idea. It takes a lot of time and it is deadly tiring. So, I went by plane. It is not the cheapest way but from Istanbul to Ljubljana it takes only 2 hours which is very short. Besides, if you buy the tickets early or if you can catch Turkish Airlines' special offers in april, september, october (as far as I remember), it is way too cheaper like 99 euro for return tickets!

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Ljubljana?

KMS, Skeleton

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Ljubljana?

Mexicana is one of the best with special offer for student coupons.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Ljubljana is a small city already. So, one should see the whole city epecally castle and neighbourhood. Moreover, Bled, Izola, Koper, Postojna are worth seeing.
