Why did you choose to go to Ljubljana, Slovenia?

I choose this city because I knew already that it is a beautiful city and there are a lot of erasmus students. Moreover, life in here is cheap and you can travel to foreign countries all around Slovenia easily.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

At the Faculty of Economics, I have lecture from the end of February till the half of June. I receive from Erasmus+ a first check of approximately 500€ and I will receive another one once I finish mobility.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ljubljana?

Great! Full of parties and trips.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Ljubljana to other students?

Of course! I wasn't expecting a mobility as great as mine. So yes, I recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy his Erasmus mobility!

What is the food like?

Typical food in Slovenia differed from the region you are living but most of the time it is about sausages and soups when you are talking about typical food. But you can find restaurant and grocery store where you can buy everything you need.

Moreover, with a sloven SIM card, you can get student coupons in certain restaurants and you have a proper meal for around 3€.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Ljubljana?

In Ljubljana you can choose between the dorms and a private accommodation. The dorms are cheap and close to the faculty of economics but you have to share you room with someone and it pretty small but again, really cheap.

And private accommodation are easy to find, you have a lot of website that propose flats and rooms.

I depends the way you live but most of the time everything is cheap.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The fundamentals are easy to catch because you can hear them all the time but still, the language is pretty difficult. You can follow a One Week Formation to learn it which are proposed during the semester.

I came to Ljubljana by train, it was cheap but not really easy. But still if you take care of it in advance you can find some flights for cheap.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Ljubljana?

It depends on the day you choose, because every night you can find Erasmus parties. For great Erasmus parties, choose the Companeros on Thursdays or the Parlement Pub on Mondays.

A great night club in the city center is the Central Station.

In Ljubljana, not that much except the city center which is beautiful.

But all around Ljubljana you can visit some magnificent caves, climb big hills to have a great view on the whole city.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Ljubljana in the future?

Enjoy as much as possible! People in Slovenia are really nice and honest. Life is cheap and there are Erasmus students who are in the same situation as you so don't be afraid and try it!
